History

2007-08: Atkinson was one of the his high school team’s leaders this season, helping them to win the New England Ice Hockey Championship.  Atkinson used his speed and scoring ability to change the outcomes of game.  He was effective in all three zones, and he showed good work ethic and determination.

Talent Analysis

Atkinson is a real worker bee, with a knack for contributing offense both often, and at critical times.  He has very good speed and stick-handling skills.  Is fearless going into corners and fighting for loose pucks.  He is small but will battle with larger opponents.  Is not afraid to take the puck to the net.  Plays well in all three zones.  Owns a very good shot, which he gets off in a hurry.

Future

Atkinson will play his freshman year at Boston College, another small but dangerous offensive forward to add to their arsenal.  Atkinson should thrive in this system.  He will most likely play several seasons in college before turning pro.
